Is it Time to Renew Your Commitment to Being Healthy?
So you started out the new year with vim and vigor, vowing to be healthy and stay on your fitness programs.. now here it is February and as much as the year started with you registering for this site and blogging how you were going be changing your lifestyle or increasing your fitness goals, now it has gotten very quiet and we haven't heard from you.
I know it isn't easy to change because if you ask my husband, in some areas of my life, I resist change.. and this is one of them, so if I can do this, you can too.
Are you still working towards your goal or have you fallen by the wayside? It's ok to slip and slide around when you get started on a new program, if you fall off, just jump back on.. there is no failure.. only success. If you have stopped working out, or stopped watching your eating habits, what is stopping you? While you are trying to figure this out, remember how good you felt about yourself when you started your program.. do you want to have that great feeling again.. you can simply by getting back on with it. Never let negative emotions get the best of you.. post signs around your house if you need to. I have a big one on my fridge that says... Exercise Your Right to be Healthy... every time I look at it, especially if I am thinking of cheating.. it reminds me that YES I AM in this position and I DO HAVE A RIGHT to be healthy.. so I reach for a piece of fruit, a drink of water or tea or a healthier snack that won't hurt my goals. We need reminders as to why we are doing something.
Don't get me wrong.. I do love some foods (and beverages) that add extra calories but I allow Saturday as my day that I can "cheat" a bit.. this works out well, because if I have a craving on Wednesday for a goody... knowing I can have it on Saturday.. it goes away and by Saturday it has long past.. if that craving is still there on Saturday.. well it must be a true craving that you can now enjoy ... just try not to overindulge.
Even if you need to make a picture board showing your goals and why you are working towards them.. every little bit helps. Read fitness magazines. Research health online that pertain to your goals. Whatever it takes.. keep it in front of you every day. ... oh and yes, log in and tell me how you are doing?
