Keeping a Food Diary

Many nutritionists tell you to log what you ate that day.. but I feel that many weight loss businesses succeed because they tell you what to eat, so instead of logging your day of eating after the fact.. log what you will be eating that day (or the next.. or for the whole week even!) before you eat it and stick to the menu.

This also makes shopping easier as well. If you have a menu plan laid out, it takes the guesswork out of what you are going to eat that day and greatly reduces the danger of eating something just because you think you are hungry. When hunger strikes between meals, reach for a full glass of water, a piece of fruit or a slice of your favourite cheese. Sometimes you feel hungry but really you are just thirsty.

Remember, if you cheat on your diet, think about it first... you are only cheating yourself.
