Eat to Keep Your Metabolism Revved

We've all heard it before. Eating little and often is the answer to losing weight. Sometimes you may think this is a huge inconvenience especially if you are busy during the day. Some people barely stop for lunch never mind a snack between meals... or they grab something possibly not as healthy as they should from the local fast food restaurant. Eating more often is really not difficult and keeps you from feeling famished by the end of the day. When you eat, your body goes to work digesting this food, taking calories to do so and you should be eating less because you never feel "empty" at mealtime.

All it takes is a little planning to keep on track. There are tons of healthy food choices out there.. you could have a half a sandwich, a container of yogurt, a handful of nuts, a piece of fruit, a couple pieces of cheese with crackers, a healthy meal replacement bar, a small cookie with a glass of milk, fresh vegetables or even a hard boiled egg.

If you consider this before you go running out the door in the morning, you could take some things with you in a cooler bag to keep you going all day.... even if you forget to take along your mini meals.. you can make healthy choices when you run into the restaurant or local convenience store.. choose milk or chocolate milk or a bottle of water instead of pop or juice. Choose a side salad instead of fries. Choose pretzels instead of chips.. and the list goes on. It takes a conscious effort to make healthy choices and even if you are on the run, it can be easy if you just think about it for a moment.
